Shapira neighborhood characterized by a large variety of population, a fact that generates prominent contrasts in the streets- both visual and social, mainly due to its accelerated gentrification process.
The program addressed the chalange of need of a formal conference center in which they can coordinate and take decisions concerning the residents. In addition to an informal meeting place where they can sell assets and strengthen the domestic economy and a library/archive in which they can store records and documents about Shapira's history
Emphasizing two opposites by two integrated systems:
Horizontal - an open system, part of the street, "earthly". The movement encompasses the center area where the encounter with the other system occures.
Vertical- a ring that surrounds the road that crosses the site and connecting the two areas of the project together- it connects the sides of the road with a "pause" above and below the road and allows the penetration of light to the spaces that are below. This ring is not palpable but exists in the perception when a person is in one of the systems.
What used to be mostly immigrant population now founds itself with younger artist, new buildings and mixed clotures.

Market
Population is pouring the content.
visually- can vary between different seasons, day and night, holidays and events, daily activities and by the content of vendors.
The activity is between people- the look is horizontal and promoting the interaction to the surrounding of the building by opening all four facades.
The market is open, has light construction and part of the street - the movement is free around the center.
The second floor accommodates offices and discussion room along with bathrooms and services.
Library
Permanent and withdrawn place. The shell gives the space a sense of formality. separated from the street (also functionally required- quiet and preventing direct sunlight radiation on the books).
The content is delivered to the population and not shaped by it.
The activity is quiet and independent and the only connection to outside is vertically - the meeting point with the market and the northern window.
